Abstract

Among the important factors that can affect employment is the amount of technological changes in the propllant sectors of the economy. Over time, technological innovation and changes have spread in many geographical spaces, but one of the major criticisms of input-output models is the inability of this model to measure the effects of technological changes caused by new innovations. In this article, we first show how the application of the field of influence method can be used to measure the effects of technology changes, and then the effect of technology changes in propllant sectors on the employment of sectors in Iran is investigated using a combined input-output and econometric method. The main question is: In which of the propllant sectors, based on the FOI method, in the period of 1365-1395, technological changes have the greatest impact on employment? The purpose of this article is to use a method that can measure the importance of different sectors using the combined model of input-output +econometrics. For this purpose, Iran's conventional input-output tables for the period from 1365 to 1395 at the constant price of 1390 and the employment data of Iran Statistics Center have been used. Also, the pattern of labor demand has been modeled using the fixed effects method and in the form of tabular data. The findings of the article indicate that with the FOI method, the propllant sectors include the industry and construction sectors, and the technological changes in the mining sector have the least impact on other sectors. Also, technological changes in industry and transportation, warehousing, and communication have the greatest effect on Iran's employment, respectively.
