Abstract

Iran has long been recognized as one of the world's key economic potentials in porphyry copper and holds an advantageous position in copper metallurgy. Consequently, the country has a significant comparative advantage in copper production and related products. Therefore, the main objective of this research is to identify, assess, and manage supply chain risks in the National Iranian Copper Industries Company. This study is applied in terms of purpose and analytical-survey in terms of data collection. The statistical population includes managers and experts from procurement, purchasing, logistics, and other related departments in the National Iranian Copper Industries Company. The sample size consists of 540 individuals selected through simple random sampling. The data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire based on ISO 3200 standards, with content validity verified and reliability calculated using Cronbach’s alpha (α = 0.939). Data analysis was performed using structural equation modeling (SEM) and LISREL software.
The findings identified 12 categories of risks through factor analysis and related structural equations, including:Managerial risks,Cost risks, External risks, Financial risks, Supplier risks, Production risks, Supply risks, Information system risks, Support risks, Organizational risks, Strategic risks, Technological risks.
These results provide valuable insights for risk mitigation strategies in the copper supply chain.
