Objective: Group research is one of the efficient paradigms in the field of personal and professional development of professors and students that utilizes collective thinking and learning to realize human and organizational talents and capacities. The present study was conducted with the aim of analyzing the effective dimensions of group research in higher education. Research Method: This study is a qualitative research and is applied in terms of purpose. The statistical population of this study is specialists, professors, and doctoral graduates. 20 sample members were selected using a purposive method and snowball technique. The data collection tool is a semi-structured interview. The data were analyzed using the content analysis method. Findings: The results of the research identified three dimensions including professors' characteristics (knowledge and skills, personality traits), students' characteristics (personality traits, attitudes), and academic characteristics (academic management and leadership, academic functions, resources and credits, and cultural factors). Conclusion: In this regard, it is necessary to provide the necessary basis for institutionalizing group research in universities by changing the executive strategies of universities, employing capable professors, and developing a group culture among professors and students, providing material and moral support to group researchers, allocating balanced and logical credits to group research in the fields of humanities, institutionalizing a culture that supports participation, and revising curricula with a focus on group learning teaching activities.
